Support your Local Economy! - Negocios de Semana Santa 2012

As loud and overwhelming as Semana Santa may be to some of us, it is the two weeks of the year that we have to share our usually peaceful beach with hundreds of visitors who await the whole year, save their money and organize all their relatives for a beach crazed festival with boom boxes and ice chests filled of beer...

But the people of La Manzanilla take this time of the year differently, they see it as an opportunity to end their  tourist season with some money in their pocket. This mayhem of people and foot traffic everywhere will actually leave a significant amount of money to all the local businesses and families a good help to survive the quiet empty summer to come.

So here is a list of all the people in town who have set up to welcome their city folk costumers bringing their kitchens to the streets of La Manzanilla! Enjoy...

En el Jardin:

Judith "La China" is having a bake sale every
 evening and aguas frescas.

Joel and his wife are selling sugar coated Churros.

Asela and her husband are selling fruit plates
with yogurt called Bionicos and duritos.

Liz is also making Bionicos, you can also choose
different kinds of toppings for these.

Like usual Chayo is making her great hamburgers and hot-dogs.

Socorro is also doing hot-dogs this year!

Tacos de Arrachera by Viridiana are really good!

More options for Tacos with Norma "Dorada"!

Right on the corner of La Delegacion don't miss
los Elotes Asados by Cindy and her husband.
A simple, delicious and nutritious treat!

If you want to quench your thirst...head on over to Abraham "La Vaca"'s Mitcheladas.
Remember they are great for a hangover!

Sobre las Calles:

There are other option for entertainment besides the beach,
like painting a clay figure with La Sra. Imelda, this provides a good
distraction for all the kids with working Mom's.

Belen is bringing you her home cooking to your table with delicious Antojitos Mexicanos and quesadillas.

More authentic home made flavors...

Looking for Sopes o enchiladas
Edith can make them for you away from the noisy Jardin!

The granddaughters of Don Sebas put up a Tepache stand,
their Tepache is made from a small acidic berry called Arrayanes
They ferment it with sugar and pineapple to make this punch like alcoholic beverage.

Of course our good friend Juan, selling his jewelry and other
hand made crafts from fellow Mexican artisans.

Edubijes with her ultra tasty Quesadillas...!

En la Playa:

If your looking for a spot... Conchas Camping might be the place for you!

You won't even have to go home after the bonfire
if you camp at El Horno del Catrin!

Disfruta tus vacaciones con responsabilidad
nos recomienda su amigo Arthuro.

Salud!!!
