Feliz Dia de los Enamorados!

Happy Valentines Day!

There is love in the air this week and if you happen to be  in La Manzanilla and want to be alone with that special person here is a list of the most romantic spots around town were the locals go to profess their love to one another!!

  • "El Jardinsito": this is one of the favorite places for older couples and families in town to watch the sunset, it right across the main square and you can have a quick glimpse of the disappearing sun if your just in downtown.
  • "La Morronquera": this is what people call the rocky stretch along the cerro in the left side of the beach, there is a local joke where they say that this is were most of the La Manzanilla kids were conceived back in the day! Very romantic spot for a different view of the town and beach.
  • "La Manzanillita": this is a great escape for a romantic day trip, you can take a boat and get dropped off or kayak here and hang in your own private beach.
  • "Los Miradores": there are a series of "miradores" along the beach with a couple benches on them, pick your own and sit to admire your surroundings or your partner!
  • "La Cueva": take a nice long walk to Boca de Iguanas were you can find a small cave on the side of a rock, local couples come here to leave an offering to the Virgen and share a kiss in the privacy of the small cueva
  • "La Cruz": if you enjoy hiking with your partner this is a good walk to the top of the ridge were the dust road (street between Kinder and Primaria) leads you up to the cross that watches over our town. The view here is spectacular!
  • "Las Joyas": if what you want is more of a jungle hike then make the excursion up the river and enjoy swimming in the pools in a very amazing setting filled with exotic plants and wildlife.

Time to get creative and view the town in a more romantic way, if you are cruising solo then don't be shy to hit a few Dia de San Valentin events.

"Regalos para tu enamorad@"

"Dia del Amor y la Amistad"

Amor, amor, amor!

Also don't forget the poetry reading at Artis Gallery!

"Si yo fuere el mar, y tu una roca, haria subir la marea, para besar tu boca."
