They day has come to claim your Tamales!!! Feb 2nd is Dia de La Candelaria (Candle Mass Day), this is when the person who found the hidden baby Jesus in the "Rosca de Reyes" has to host a Tamale party and invite those with whom he shared the Rosca.
If you want to celebrate this day in an easier way just swing by the Jardin on Wednesday nights and get your Tamales and Atole on the spot! Juan, Lupita and Judith have set up a small stand and will also be happy to make you a special batch if you want to host your own Dia de La Candelaria Fiesta!
Remember on Weekends they sell these and other Antojitos Mexicanos in front of the Kinder and the Tamale stand is replaced by someone else, a different Juan and Judith who own the Tamale cart you see going around town every afternoon.
For the ever growing amount of "basura" in our town new trucks and containers were delivered to La Manzanilla and Boca de Iguanas. A new garbage compacting truck will be in operation, as well as a second used one; our old truck was passed on to a different community, and a total of 3 new garbage containers were placed in strategic places around town and one in Boca.
New Basura Compacting Truck and Semi used Camion!
And don't forget today is the New Delegado Manuel Figueroa's first day in office!
Bienvenidos!
