La Manzanilla's most extreme!
Some Members of the Ejido of La Manzanilla have been excercising their ability to request support and programs from several Federal Commissions and Secretaries, they started working with an advisor Olivier Robert who facilitated several programs financed by the CONAFOR ( Mexico's National Commission of Forestry) for our Ejido. One of these programs is a workshop on "Turismo de Aventura".

David Andrade is an expert who instructed and briefed all those who attended to the free workshop in many things like camping, camping safety, rock climbing, geological observation, bird watching, flora and fauna appreciation as well as basic knots.

Here we have David lecturing in the Casa Ejidal about
the type of activities you could potentially realize in Las Joyas.
The objective of this and other workshops is to promote creative thinking amongst the participants, creative thinking regarding ways to conduct eco-friendly activities around the Ejido territory that can be low impact on the environment but (hopefully) highly lucrative. The members of the Ejido are looking for more options other than creating more lots for sale and maybe perpetuating that same desire of conservation in their youth by training them and giving them knowledge of their natural surroundings as a skill, a skill that may be marketable in the future.
Las Joya's only chance of survival like many other precious natural areas faced with growing populations, might be to become a sort of park, or the scenario were this type of "Eco-tourism" activities take place.
